Richmond is a major shipper of bitumen in bulk from Singapore, Thailand, Iran, Bahrain, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. The monthly volume shipped ranges from 10,000MT to 15,000MT. Volumes are shipped to various countries throughout East and West Africa, Australia, the U.A.E., Oman, India, and Afghanistan.

Bitucorp Pvt. Ltd. an associate company in India was the first company to set-up a storage facility for import of bulk bitumen into India in 1998 and is the major importer of bulk bitumen into India.

Bitucorp has provided technical assistance and supplied equipment to another associate company in Iran, to set up a bulk bitumen storage facility for export from the Port of Bandar Abbas. Two storage tanks of 3000 MT capacity were set-up and commissioned in April 2003. In addition, 5 more tanks of 800 MT capacity each have been set-up in a property adjacent to the Bandar Abbas Refinery. This is the first such port based facility ever set-up in Iran for bulk bitumen exports, as a result of which the Group is able to load bitumen tankers of upto 7,000 MT capacity. The terminal currently handles import and export of bitumen and heavy oil products exceeding 35,000 MT per month.

Bitucorp has provided technical assistance for setting up a storage facility in East Africa and in Muscat, Oman.
